Team Dance in the Rain’s Amazing Feet (s)

#3 Dave here,

A few weekends ago team “Dance in the Rain” – #6 Michelle, #7 Christie, #2 Steve and wife Cindi, Dawn (cousin) and Chritie’s sister-in-law, Katie completed the 39 miles over 2 days and raised $17,328.53 for the cause!!!

#4 Linda and her daughter Reilly, who flew all the way from Houston to help cheer them on, and I were able to surprise them  (I happened to be in the area on business and just decided to extend my stay).  We “greeted” them at about mile 17 on the first day along with my Dad and #1 Sharon.  It was a very exciting, and emotional, moment with many smiles and many tears…..an incredible moment (words can’t describe).  We met them at several other spots along the way on the first day and were joined by many more friends and family at the finish line (Of course Mo brought plenty of food for us all to snack on).

We followed up Saturday with a group of over 25 meeting them at the finish line and enjoyed a wonderful picnic at Ft. Mason as the walkers shed their shoes and rested their weary bodies.  Watching the team, and all the walkers, cross the finish line to be greeted by family and friends was such an awesome experience….the joy, tears and smiles were just incredible to see.  I will never forget the site of the team crossing the line with arms locked as one…..we are so proud of what you did, but probably not nearly as proud as Mom watching from her cloud in the sky.

  1. I so enjoyed watching and rooting on not only Team Dance in the Rain but all the people we saw in Sausalito and Corte Madera. Such an inspiring event. The Ripple’s and all who support and love them are amazing. I loved seeing everyone on Saturday and feel very lucky to be in on the surprise of
Linda, Reilly and Dave popping up to root on their siblings, cousin Dawn and the rest of the team. You are the BEST! Thank you for every step you walked.

David….great job in capturing the spirit and highlights of the 2nd walk for your Mom and all the others who battled, will battle and hopefully will never have to battle breast cancer. I can just imagine the joy and the tears….the agony and ecstasy! Congratulations walkers, cheerleaders and supporters for making Team Dance In the Rain shine. Eileen surely loved all the surprises this year-mile 17 never looked so good!
    Love to All,
    Reen & Terry

Team “Dance in the Rain” inspires us all……and what a great opportunity to be able to greet & cheer them in beautiful Sausalito & through Corte Madera….quite a difference from last year’s course ! Walking 39 miles is a HUGE accomplishment, but raising ALL that money on top of it is a phenomenal accomplishment. We are all so proud of the walkers, cheerers, and supporters – how fun it was to be at Fort Mason & see them come through the pink balloon arch arms linked….I know my sister had tears streaming down onto her puffy pink cloud (’cause I sure did !). Know Eileen is SO PROUD of every single one who took part. I’m so blessed to be part of this fabulous family !!! With love, Auntie Sharon

  4. I still cannot believe the surprise of seeing Linda, Reilly, and Dave at mile 17! You could have knocked me over with a feather. I am so thankful for all of our cheerleaders who came to support us…Dad, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws. The encouragement, hugs, and cheers kept me going even when my legs really wanted a rest! Our supporters are the BEST. We’ve even raised additional funds since the walk bringing our total to $17,628.53. AMAZING!!!
Walking with Christie, Katie, Steve, Cindi, & Dawn (& our adopted walker Kim) was a joy. We walked with a “leave no man behind” attitude and supported each other the entire way. There was laughter, tears, surprises…and Steve even rendered first-aid on a cyclist!
I carry Mom in my heart every day and will never forgive breast cancer for taking her away. It was an honor to walk for those who have fought and lost their battle with breast cancer and for those fighting it today. And, of course, I walked with the hope for a cure. I know Mom was/is watching over all of us and is proud of her loving & wonderful family.

  5. How proud Eileen must be of all of you carrying on this fight and giving it your all! Congratulations to all of you. What a wonderful supportive family you all are for each other! What a wonderful surprise seeing Linda, Reilly and Dave! You all are making the most out of life! God Bless, Alice
